Hi my name is Abbas, my journey in swimming started when I was about 8 years old when my uncle use to take me swimming every Friday and I learnt swimming from him in Karachi. I have all my life been very sporty and swimming has been my passion.
Since the age of 10 I have been swimming competitively, I was started at club level and very soon I was in my State team, and by 13 I was Gold medallist at State & Jr Nationals. By 18 I became Pakistan best swimmer Under 19 and won 5 Gold Medals. I than became Pakistan Senior Gold medallist between 1999 & 2003.
I have also represented Pakistan at 1999 South Asian Games, I was part of 2001 south Asian Games Pak team. I got selected in team for 2002 commonwealth games which were held in Manchester. Lastly I Represented Pakistan again in 2010 at the FINA World swimming Championships in Dubai.
I moved UK permanently in 2000 to do my studies and swimming. I trained with Stockport Metro while I was swimming for Pakistan Team. I started Teaching swimming in 2004 but after my Graduation I was working in different industries, mostly Property Management. But my passion for swimming always stayed and I kept teaching part time while I was training for Pakistan swimming team at Stockport Metro Swim Club.
I Started Teaching and Coaching swimming fulltime when I moved to Pakistan in 2012. I ran my own Swimming school for 4 years in Karachi where I was coaching National level Swimmers, I than moved back to UK in 2016 as my Daughters were getting older, ever since moving back to UK I have teaching and coaching regularly with few different Swim schools.
I got my first teaching Qualifications in 2004 from Manchester. I have done my Bsc Hons in Information & communication technology from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2004 and did my Masters in 2005 from London Metropolitan University in International Business & Management.
My Qualifications in fitness are as follow.
I have recently done all my Safe guarding certificates Covid training and all swimming strokes, diving, shallow water teaching and rescue CPDs. I am also qualified First Aid CPR and Life Guard.
I very dedicated in my teaching and my top quality is that I can make all my clients/ students very comfortable, I am easy to talk too and communication is key to my teaching. I focus a lot on technique and it’s the most important part of swimming, and only practice makes it perfect. I like being in water while I am teaching and outside the water when I am Coaching. I have extensive knowledge and experience in swimming and I have been teaching kids from age 3 to adults age 70 plus.
Other than swimming I am a father to 4 daughters youngest being only 8 months. Me and my wife love cooking going gym and doing healthy activities with our kids. On my days off I love spending time with my family and my sister n her kids, going for cycling, walk in parks and movies.
My Aim in life is to be happy and content with what I have and be a best father to my children.

Abbas is a top class teacher. He teaches both my boys together and manages them brilliantly which isn’t easy as they are 3 & 5 years old. They have improved so much since starting their lessons with Abbas.

I have had swimming lessons at various times in my life over the years and I have to say Abs is without any doubt whatsoever the best instructor I have ever had.
He has only known me a short time but from the very first lesson I have been so very relaxed at ease and confident with him and his style of teaching.
I was extremely nervous on my first lesson but I’m now swimming on my own ….I still have a little way to go to be completely confident but it won’t take long for that to happen with Abs teaching me .
If I make a mistake now I am able to laugh about it but in the past it would have caused me to panic.
In my opinion Abs is a great asset to Swim Now and I really hope they appreciate him as much as his students do…..myself especially.
Abbas taught 3 of MU kids and they are all developing very well. All are not afraid of water anymore and 2 older kids can swim without floats

Abs is a really good teacher. I have had a phobia about water ever since I was a boy, due to an incident at a school swimming lesson.
My confidence in the pool has really come on since I’ve been having lessons with Abs. When I started I didn’t want to move away from the side of the pool now, I keep away from the side because of my confidence being so much better.
It might sound expensive to have 1 on 1 lessons but, if like me, you have a phobia, I would most certainly recommend Swim Now…..I can only praise Abs for his teaching methods…..he really is very good and has helped me enormously.

I had a great experience with Abbas. I achieved my goal of swimming the front crawl and backstroke with some level of confidence within two months, from zero experience of swimming.
I am very pleased.
Abbas is an exceptional swimming coach. He is gregarious and the communications (both online and offline) are always pleasant. Though I can swim, my aim with Abbas is to improve my techniques, which he helps enormously. He meticulously observes my swimming techniques, precisely points out where to improve and more importantly provides customised drills. After a few sessions (and offline practices), I now swim faster and swim more fluently. With my above experience, I would strongly recommend Abbas if you are looking to improve your swimming techniques!
Abbas has been teaching my 5 year old son and in 6 lessons I have already seen much progress. My son is very sensitive and doesn’t even like getting his hair wet, so he needed a teacher who was adaptable to his needs. Abbas is warm and likeable and has really earned my son’s trust. My son’s confidence has really grown with him and he is already swimming along while holding a kick board. My son has made much more progress with him than the group lesson we tried before. 5 stars.
5 stars. My 5 year old son is very sensitive and doesn’t even like getting his hair wet. Abbas is warm and likeable and really sensitive to my son’s needs. He has earned my son’s trust and confidence and as a result my son has made a lot of progress. He has gone from zero swimming to now swimming along with a kick board or float, in less than 6 lessons. Much more progress than he made when we tried group lessons. He is a skilled and engaging teacher.

I started with Abbas as a complete beginner having never swam a length of freestyle before. Abbas taught me the technique from the beginning and gave me several tips for refinement. The lessons had a good variety to them.

Abbas has been a great instructor! I decided to start searching for a swimming instructor when I couldn’t seem to improve my frontcrawl technique and swim more than 2 lengths without getting exhausted.
After my first swimming lesson with Abbas I learnt key adjustments to make to improve my efficiency in the water and conserve my energy. Straight after my first lesson I chose to try this at my local gym and I increased my PB from 2 lengths to 8 lengths in frontcrawl!
This improvement is a testament to Abbas and his level of teaching. He provides tailored plans to improve you as a swimmer and is very consistent and reliable in communicating. I couldn’t have asked for a better instructor and experience.

Abbas is an amazing coach. I’ve never been able to swim at all my entire life to the point of it becoming a meme among friends! After training with Abbas for 3 weeks in preparation for a holiday, I went from sinking like a stone anytime I was in water to being comfortably able to swim in the sea (in deep water) and perform three different types of strokes well. Abbas has a very special ability of making you feel comfortable in the water and whenever I had reservations about not knowing a specific ability such as sculling or treating water (the holiday anxiety was kicking in) he immediately pivoted the training to teaching me what I felt I needed to know. I’m now aiming to turn swimming into a lifelong hobby and I still can’t believe I can now do it after years of failure. Thank you Abbas.

Abbas is a top class teacher. He teaches both my boys together and manages them brilliantly which isn’t easy as they are 3 & 5 years old. They have improved so much since starting their lessons with Abbas.

I have had swimming lessons at various times in my life over the years and I have to say Abs is without any doubt whatsoever the best instructor I have ever had.
He has only known me a short time but from the very first lesson I have been so very relaxed at ease and confident with him and his style of teaching.
I was extremely nervous on my first lesson but I’m now swimming on my own ….I still have a little way to go to be completely confident but it won’t take long for that to happen with Abs teaching me .
If I make a mistake now I am able to laugh about it but in the past it would have caused me to panic.
In my opinion Abs is a great asset to Swim Now and I really hope they appreciate him as much as his students do…..myself especially.
Abbas taught 3 of MU kids and they are all developing very well. All are not afraid of water anymore and 2 older kids can swim without floats

Abbas has been teaching my son for a few weeks now. He is excellent with him even though he started off a little nervous at going into the water. He now looks forward to his lessons. Abbas is able to communicate really well with him without talking down to him and he is developing in confidence. We are really pleased with his progress so far.

Abs is a really good teacher. I have had a phobia about water ever since I was a boy, due to an incident at a school swimming lesson.
My confidence in the pool has really come on since I’ve been having lessons with Abs. When I started I didn’t want to move away from the side of the pool now, I keep away from the side because of my confidence being so much better.
It might sound expensive to have 1 on 1 lessons but, if like me, you have a phobia, I would most certainly recommend Swim Now…..I can only praise Abs for his teaching methods…..he really is very good and has helped me enormously.

I had a great experience with Abbas. I achieved my goal of swimming the front crawl and backstroke with some level of confidence within two months, from zero experience of swimming.
I am very pleased.
Abbas is an exceptional swimming coach. He is gregarious and the communications (both online and offline) are always pleasant. Though I can swim, my aim with Abbas is to improve my techniques, which he helps enormously. He meticulously observes my swimming techniques, precisely points out where to improve and more importantly provides customised drills. After a few sessions (and offline practices), I now swim faster and swim more fluently. With my above experience, I would strongly recommend Abbas if you are looking to improve your swimming techniques!
Abbas has been teaching my 5 year old son and in 6 lessons I have already seen much progress. My son is very sensitive and doesn’t even like getting his hair wet, so he needed a teacher who was adaptable to his needs. Abbas is warm and likeable and has really earned my son’s trust. My son’s confidence has really grown with him and he is already swimming along while holding a kick board. My son has made much more progress with him than the group lesson we tried before. 5 stars.
5 stars. My 5 year old son is very sensitive and doesn’t even like getting his hair wet. Abbas is warm and likeable and really sensitive to my son’s needs. He has earned my son’s trust and confidence and as a result my son has made a lot of progress. He has gone from zero swimming to now swimming along with a kick board or float, in less than 6 lessons. Much more progress than he made when we tried group lessons. He is a skilled and engaging teacher.

I started with Abbas as a complete beginner having never swam a length of freestyle before. Abbas taught me the technique from the beginning and gave me several tips for refinement. The lessons had a good variety to them.
Excellent one to one lessons, Abbas quicker understood what my GrandDaughter required to improve her swimming technique. She really enjoys his lessons and has learnt a lot in her first two seasons.

Abbas has been a great instructor! I decided to start searching for a swimming instructor when I couldn’t seem to improve my frontcrawl technique and swim more than 2 lengths without getting exhausted.
After my first swimming lesson with Abbas I learnt key adjustments to make to improve my efficiency in the water and conserve my energy. Straight after my first lesson I chose to try this at my local gym and I increased my PB from 2 lengths to 8 lengths in frontcrawl!
This improvement is a testament to Abbas and his level of teaching. He provides tailored plans to improve you as a swimmer and is very consistent and reliable in communicating. I couldn’t have asked for a better instructor and experience.

Abbas has been a wonderful swimming teacher. Learning to swim can be very nerve-wracking, but Abbas’ friendly and encouraging manner completely put me at ease. Abbas handles the kids so well. Both are at different levels but he manages and coaches them fitting their levels and kids are so happy to be back at swimming class

Abbas was great with my nervous son who had fear issues around swimming and getting his head wet. His kindness and gentle persistence, whilst keeping lessons fun, meant my son made great strides in his journey to learn to swim.
My son Charlie 5 has recently started swimming with Abba, we going for the 3rd lesson and Charlie is really excited, “he said Mommy I’m getting into the pool by myself on Saturday” this is due to Abba being patient and calming Charlie down with talk when he does his lesson. Abbas is an amazing coach. I’ve never been able to swim at all my entire life to the point of it becoming a meme among friends! After training with Abbas for 3 weeks in preparation for a holiday, I went from sinking like a stone anytime I was in water to being comfortably able to swim in the sea (in deep water) and perform three different types of strokes well. Abbas has a very special ability of making you feel comfortable in the water and whenever I had reservations about not knowing a specific ability such as sculling or treating water (the holiday anxiety was kicking in) he immediately pivoted the training to teaching me what I felt I needed to know. I’m now aiming to turn swimming into a lifelong hobby and I still can’t believe I can now do it after years of failure. Thank you Abbas.
