Hello, I’m thrilled to be joining the team as a swimming instructor, bringing with me eight years of experience in the field. My journey in teaching began with outdoor education, where I immersed myself in a wide array of sports, including open water swimming, kayaking, canoeing, and rock climbing. This diverse background has equipped me with a holistic understanding of physical activities and the importance of fostering inclusivity within sports environments.
Currently pursuing a master’s degree in gender, sexuality, and culture, my passion lies in making sports more inclusive for all. Through my studies, I’m actively exploring ways to create safe and welcoming spaces for individuals of diverse backgrounds and identities within the realm of sports. My experience extends beyond traditional teaching settings, as I’ve had the privilege of working at a SEN school in Manchester. Here, I honed my skills in teaching students with special educational needs, both in and out of the pool. This experience has taught me the value of patience, empathy, and adaptability in catering to the unique needs of every individual.
I’m excited to bring my blend of experience, expertise, and passion to the poolside, where together, we can dive into the joy of swimming while fostering a culture of inclusivity and empowerment.
We cannot praise Aghi enough, he is calm, caring and finds the right balance between structured learning & fun.
Our 4 year old son’s confidence has increased so much in just a few lessons, he is now happy to submerge his head underwater and wear goggles. Having a number of sensory challenges, prior to starting classes, he would become distressed even being splashed in the face; he is now confident to jump in and swim a full-length with just 2 small arm floats.
We would highly recommend Aghi as an instructor.
I can’t praise Aghi highly enough. He put me so much at ease right from the start which gave me the confidence to step out of my comfort zone. He is excellent at adapting his teaching style to individual needs, his teaching methods are way better than I could ever have hoped for. I’m so happy I did this, I’m now going swimming 3 times per week and loving my new found confidence. It’s been life changing for me.
Aghi is a truly brilliant swimming teacher. My 7 year old son has made so much progress and he is now saying he loves swimming! Aghi is attuned to my son’s sensory needs and window of tolerance, to balance pushing his progress without making him overly anxious, which has really helped him build confidence in the water. The lessons are well planned and he uses a visual timetable which helps my son know what to expect. He was quick to build rapport and my son said he gave Aghi ‘10 out of 10’ after his first lesson.
Aghi has massively helped my daughter’s swimming confidence. He’s been super patient with her, as she’s easily distracted, but ensured she’s made progress each week.
Aghi has been teaching our 4 year old child. He is the incredibly patient and attentive. Very enthusiastic and our son has come on in leaps and bounds. Very pleased. Thanks Aghi!
My children (4 and 7) were both taught by Aghi and he structured lessons well to suit their different levels of abilities and areas for improvement. They absolutely loved their lessons with Aghi – he made learning fun and managed to get them to overcome hurdles confidently. My children were always happy and excited to attend lessons, and learned lots. Thanks to Aghi and the Swim Now team, they are confident and happy in the water and love swimming. Thanks so much for everything, Aghi!
