Hi, Brendan here.
All I have ever known is water. As soon as I was able, I was taken down to the local pool to get used to the water and begin learning. Starting lessons as young as possible I became part of my first swim club at 8 years old. Competing from 8 through to 23, I made National Finals as well as winning many Regional events at age group and open ages.
As a teacher I pride myself on delivering fun and engaging lessons, while still focussing on technical excellence. My goal is to provide anyone I teach with the skills they need to enjoy the water the way I have been able to my whole life!
Having been teaching for the best part of 6 years, I have had the pleasure of working with individuals of all abilities and backgrounds. I relish the challenges both at beginner level and improvers and always strive to adept the best I can to whatever the needs and goals of an individual may be.
I truly believe that no one is beyond learning to swim, however young or old. Whether you have no experience or have had bad experiences with swimming, the first step to reaching your goal is enquiring about lessons. It can be a daunting prospect, but you won’t regret it!

I would like to say Brendan is a brilliant teacher. My grandson has learning difficulties but with Brendan’s patience + understanding has taught him to swim.. The lessons have been both enjoyable + rewarding for my grandson . Thank you so much for all your help Brendan.

Patiently helped me be comfortable in water and overcome my inhibitions of being in water. In my first 10-12 classes I am happy being in water and love learning to swim.
I initially wanted a female swimming instructor and was reluctant to take lessons from a male. After the first lesson, that wasn’t even a concern because of how professional and comfortable Brendan made me feel. I started in January 2023 sinking in the shallow waters of Manchester Hilton but six months later in June 2023 I am Googling swimming holidays and thinking of investing in another burkini. I would not have made it this far without Brendan. He was patient, gave good instruction and made it easy for me to say “Please can you tell me that again”. I recommended Brendan to my mum and my friends. If you fear the water and don’t know how to swim, look no further. Brendan at Swim Now is amazing and I am so lucky to have been taught by him. Thank you Brendan for giving me a skill and a new passion in life.
