Dan – Swimming Teacher – Leeds

I’m Dan and I teach at the Bannatyne Health and Spa in Leeds and I am available for lessons Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

Swimming has been a massive part of my life since the age of three. Learning to Swim helped me build my confidence, which is something I was lacked when I was young. It has enabled me to meet new friends and compete in regional competitions. I think learning to swim is a key life skill and something everyone should have the support to be able to do.

At age 10 I joined a competitive swimming club and competed in galas and triathlons across Yorkshire. Whilst I competed, I started to volunteer as an assistant swim teacher as part of the Learn to Swim Programme. I really enjoyed assisting because I remembered how much I enjoyed learning to swim and helping to make that happen for others never failed to put a smile on my face. Once I was old enough, I became an STA level 2 Qualified teacher, and it has been the best decision I’ve ever made. Being able to be a part of a swimmer’s journey and helping swimmers making week on week improvements is such an amazing feeling and makes being a swimming teacher so rewarding. I really enjoy being able to make fun and engaging lessons for adults and children alike.
