Tim – Senior Swimming Teacher – Reading

Hi, I’m Tim,

I’ve recently qualified as a ASA Level 2 Swimming Teacher as I believe swimming is vital life skill whether in a pool or open water. I have an encouraging demeanour and always build a positive learning environment so you will feel motivated and supported along your journey.

I qualified as a triathlon coach in 2010, in 2014 began coaching with a local Triathlon Club, in 2018 completed BTF level 3 High Performance coaching course. I’m always looking to develop and improve knowledge through CPD courses, especially Strength & Conditioning and Biomechanics. Having spent time working alongside Physiotherapists this allows me to put this experience into practice with athletes. I’m also a Mentor for British Triathlon coaches.

Having previously spent several years as a manager in the fast-paced world of Food Retail in various roles and responsibilities, including project management, I understand the demands of a busy lifestyle and a demanding job. Therefore, I believe in having a flexible approach to working with athletes to respond to their individual needs and responsiveness to different approaches to training. I firmly believe in not viewing training in isolation but rather implementing an holistic focus where the program is planned in the context of a healthy body and a fulfilling life. This will lead to increased performances and a more enjoyable fitness and training experience.
